Lessons for children from 11 to 18 can be tailored to their individual needs, whether it is to make general progress or to achieve better marks through training specifically to sit for exams such as GCSE or A-levels.
Lessons will be based on what has already been done in class and on marked papers, so to link class work and home study and make progress according to the requirements of the national curriculum.
These lessons can be booked for one to one hour and a half, depending on your needs as well as on the capacity of concentration of the child concerned.
The aims of these lessons are many. For the little ones, the benefits targeted are threefold. First and foremost, they will have fun, second they will build confidence in experimenting a new language and third it will open their minds to other cultures. All these contribute to building a sound footing for further learning.
Primary school children will find a way to take a head start before starting to learn a foreign language at Key Stage 2 and those who have already started will get a chance to practise and improve what they have already learnt, enhancing their confidence and the pleasure they get from using a foreign language.
The resources used will be varied. They range from flashcards, posters, books, to songs, puppets, etc. Children will learn through games and will be involved physically as well as intellectually.
Lessons for children will last between 30 to 45 minutes, thus respecting their capacity of concentration. For the little ones, group sessions can be arranged for up to six children at a time. The group will have to meet at one of the parents' home (which can change from one meeting to the other).
